Mr. Sushil Kumar Bhatnagar, a former Principal of Food Craft Institute, Faridabad, Haryana and acting Vice-Principal of Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi, completed his science graduation from Agra University. He completed his diploma in Hotel Management (3 years course) from Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition Pusa, New Delhi. After completing the diploma in hotel management, he joined Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi as Front Office Assistant and later joined India International Centre 40, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi as Front Office Executive. Further, in 1970 he joined IHM Pusa, New Delhi as Faculty Member. In 1987, under U.N.D.P. and W.T.O. Scholarship programme, the author was sent to Cornell University ITHICA, New York, U.S. of A. There he completed “Professional Development Programme”. Under the same scholarship scheme he also got his professional training at Marriott Hotel, Washington D.C., U.S. of A. and also at Geneva, Switzerland. In the year, 1990, Mr. Bhatnagar was deputed to Faridabad, Haryana to establish a Food Craft Institute near Bhadkal Lake. The programme was jointly sponsored by Central Government and Haryana Government. For 2 years he worked there as Principal. During his long and illustrious career at F.C.I. Faridabad and I.H.M. Pusa, Mr. Bhatnagar trained students of various levels courses such as Certificate/Diploma in Hotel Reception and Book Keeping, three years degree course in Hotel Management and one year Post Graduate Hotel Administration Degree course in Accommodation Operations. He also conducted training courses in Front Office Operations and Management for Executives and Senior Managers of Five Star and Five Star Deluxe Hotels in India. He also trained Front Office Managers and Executives of leading hotels of Mauritius. This programme was conducted jointly by Indian and Mauritian government. Mr. Bhatnagar also conducted a series of training programmes for the staff of India International Centre, New Delhi, Toshali Sands Resort, Puri, Odisha, and Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Jammu (J&K). He was formerly a member of HRACC and also an expert member of AICTE team formed for granting affiliation to new institute of Hotel Management at ‘Moga’ Punjab.
