Now after five years of the launch of the book, a need has been felt to upgrade it with the latest information on the hotel industry and functioning of the hotel front office. The first revised and enlarged edition of the book has basically concentrated towards addition of sections such as overview of the Indian Hotel Industry, new technical terms in front office, latest photographs & illustrations and discussion on revenue management. As the young students of hospitality and hotel management will be the main readers of the manual, the first edition of the manual takes care to give them a good amount of theoretical and practical knowledge in the operations of the front office department of a hotel. The student fraternity always feel the need for a training manual which is purely a training manual and not a theory text book which gives them no information about the practicalities of the front office but is only a mere collection of facts. The first edition has a comprehensive coverage on the hotel industry of India and gives important facts and figures on present development and future prospects of the travel, tourism and hotel industry.
