Mr V K Stivastava, presently Principal Government Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology Graduated in Science from Lucknow University, done proficiency in French from Lucknow University, Three years diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from I.H.M. Lucknow, P.G. diploma in Public Administration from Lucknow University and obtained Maters Tourism Management from I.G.N.O.U. 

He started his career from Chefair. Air Port Restaurant unit of Hotel Co-omoration of India, as Captain in 1983 and later joined Government Institute of Hotel Management. Ochradun as Lecturer in 1984.

In the year 1991 he was blessed with an opportunity to open a new Government Institute of Hotel Management. Almora. He raised the institute from scratches to sky during his first texture of almost 3 yrs as Incharge, Principal.
