Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHM) Ranchi is an alumnus of Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar. He is having an academic experience of 25 years in Academics and Training. He has completed Ph.D. in Tourism and Hospitality Discipline on Crisis Management in Hotels from IGNOU. He has done Master's Degree in Tourism Management, from MK University.
He has worked with ISM, Ranchi, Jharkhand, VIHTM, Rajkot, Gujarat and BCIHMCT, New Delhi. He has a vast experience in Placement and Training of Hotel Management Students, and Hospitality Research.
He is an Ex-Chief Editor of Indian Journal of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Research a reputed journal of Hospitality Industry in India; also, an expert in NAAC Accreditation and ISO 9001:2008. He has published research works in International Journals on different topics like Service quality in Hotels, HR issues and Crisis Management etc. He has authored manuscripts on various hotel Management subjects. He has been Awarded as the best Principal by AAHARWAYS in the year 2023, best educator in Hospitality education by the ISHE in 2016, the President's Award from IHC for 2015. His research paper was awarded as the best paper at the APTA 19th Annual Conference 2013 and his research on Crisis Management in Luxury Hotels in India is most cited paper in the world. He has been awarded with SAF Madanjeet Singh

Scholarship 2004 by SAF India. He has been honoured for valuable contribution in the launch of Vibrant Gujarat Navratri Festival and Vibrant Gujarat Uttarayan Festival in 2002 and 2003.

 

Ravi Kumar, an IHM Kolkata alumnus, is a seasoned hospitality expert with about 1.5 decade of combined experience in operations and academia, and is currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Hotel Management, Ranchi. He began his career as a Management Trainee with India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), The Ashok Group of Hotels, a PSU under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Mr. Kumar has an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Training and Development from the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) in New Delhi.

 

He is a certified trainer from All India Management Association (AIMA) and has successfully completed various trainer development programs such as DTS and DOT sponsored by the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Management, displaying a lifelong commitment to improving knowledge in the hospitality and tourism fields.
