There have been and still are a myriad of obstacles to tourism development, such as political instability, economic restructuring, human resource constraints, lack of regional co-operation and a lack of basic infrastructure. S.K.Gupta, Ph. D is a Professor in Tourism and Director of Centre for Mountain Tourism and Hospitality Studies, HNB Garhwal University (A Central Universithy), Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand,India besides hoding the responsibility of Dean of School of Management of the same University. He received his Ph.D degree in Tourism Management from HNB Garhwal University and successfully completed 20 years of post graduate teaching experience in the subject concern. Besides having the specialization in Travel trade mechanization Prof Gupta has got expertise in sustainable tourism planning and management. He has published fi ve books both as author and editor, thirty research papers in national and international journals and edited books and guided nine doctoral research scholars to his credit. He has participated in a number of national and international conferences in India and abroad and has organized several national and international conferences. He is the Editor of” Journal of Tourism” (JoT), an international journal and Associate Editor of, “Ecoforum Journal” and “Revista de Turism- Studi si Cercetari in turism”, International Journals, from Romania. Prof (Dr) Neeraj Agarwal, carries a rich blend of experience of 23 years in Hospitality Academics and industry. Author is UGC NET qualifi ed and have been awarded PhD in the fi eld of Tourism Management. He is presently working as Head of Hotel Management Department at Graphic Era University, Dehraduna leading University of Uttarakhand. Prior to this, he has worked as Director and program-head with various prestigious Hospitality Institutes of India. He has many research papers to his credit and has been a key participant in various national and International Seminars and Conferences. . He has written Three books namely “Introduction to Corporate Housekeeping Management “, “Hotel Front Offi ce Management- A contextual approach “and Hospitality Information System. His Zeal philosophy provides him an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of his hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in his students, as he shares his own passion for learning with them.
